Last Thursday, April 30th, we held the Night Meeting 78 Years Moving Forward Together, an online meeting via Zoom to celebrate the 78th anniversary of AVAA. It had the participation of allies, sponsors, mentors, facilitators, staff, alumni, the Board of Directors and, of course, the scholarship holders, as well as great friends of the organization who got in touch with us once again after many years.
This was the first time AVAA held an online meeting that brought together so many people at the same time, which showed that although we are physically distant, we are never absent. The activity had as panelists different members of the organization such as PhD. Gustavo Roosen, President of AVAA, and Karhil Canelones, Vice President of the Organization. It was moderated, among others, by Amelvi Barrera, Executive Director of AVAA.
The attendees were able to look back at AVAA’s history thanks to an anniversary video, a historical and very emotional audiovisual piece. They could also learn firsthand about the Association’s main milestones, as told by the ones who achieved them.

In addition to the historical account, the activity was attended by Bapssy Meneses, Manager of Educational Programs in Caracas, who spoke about the evolution of ProExcelencia in recent years; and Isaac Perez, General Manager of AVAA in Carabobo, who talked about his experience at the head of the first regional division of AVAA.
The activity was a space to reconnect
To finish the activity, Geraldina Guédez, volunteer and member of the AVAA’s Board of Directors, led an interactive activity with which all participants could write their wishes for the Association in its 78th anniversary:
Word cloud of wishes made by the attendees.
The event brought together 160 people related to AVAA who came together to look back on its history and learn about its medium-term plans.
