Our scholars Noris Moreno and José Cisneros became 2 of the 3 Venezuelans selected for the SUSI 2022 Program, organized by the US State Department.
The SUSI program is an intensive program that promotes cultural exchange between both countries.
In this program, not only students from Latin America participate but also students from Asia and Africa.
The program takes participants to the United States for a month to learn about their culture, the development of social projects, and social sensitivity.
This year, due to the Covid, the Program will be divided into two parts: the first one will be completely online, and the second part will be held in person in the USA. Those who succeed in completing both stages will be able to compete for seed capital and the support of the Embassy to implement the project.
Our scholars have been selected for their proven leadership and social impact.
“My path is just beginning. The fact that so many people believe in me, and that the US Embassy has selected me, reaffirms something I am very sure of… Venezuelans are not alone. I’ve been through very hard situations that have often made me think I could not go on. However, I have gained the strength and courage in them,” Noris said.
This great opportunity represents a motivation for Noris and José, who have gone through challenging personal circumstances.
These scholars with their vocation and ability to adapt to adverse situations have managed to overcome and from AVAA, we want to reiterate that they have the support of the organization to accompany them.
